ISO 45001Health and safety

Demonstrate ISO 45001 with what you already do every day

ISO 45001 asks you to demonstrably control occupational health and safety. In BrydgeOne you record daily practice, from reports and inspections to LMRA, toolboxes and work permits, and link it as evidence to the controls in the standards framework (BOCF).

Modules

How BrydgeOne helps with ISO 45001

Every module works on its own. Start with what you need now and add modules later.

Incidents & reportsRegistration, root cause analysis, measures and effectiveness checks support clause 10.2 on incidents, nonconformities and corrective action. Workplace inspectionsRecurring checks scheduled in this module support operational control under clause 8.1. LMRACompleted LMRAs count as evidence in the standards framework for the clauses you link them to. Toolbox talksCompleted toolbox talks count in the standards framework as evidence of employee participation. Hazardous substancesThe register and the current safety data sheets count as evidence in the standards framework. Certificate managementMandatory certificates per job role help demonstrate that employees are competent for their work (clause 7.2). Skills matrixRole requirements and an up-to-date matrix help demonstrate that employees are competent for their work (clause 7.2). TrainingFor each employee you show which training was completed, whether it is valid and whether it was effective (clause 7.2). Risk assessment & action planAn adopted assessment automatically counts as evidence for clause 6.1.2 in the standards framework. TRAIn the standards framework you link the TRA as a source of evidence to clauses such as 6.1.2 and 8.1.2; approved TRAs count as evidence. Permit to workIn the standards framework you link permits as evidence to a clause of the standard; an issued permit counts as evidence. Start-of-work meetingIn the standards framework you link the module as a source of evidence to clauses 7.3 and 7.4. SatisfactionThe anonymous employee survey on work experience and safety culture supports clause 5.4 on consultation and participation of workers. Compliance obligationsBecause the register spans all domains, you can also record health and safety requirements and assess compliance with them periodically. IntranetPolls and surveys support the consultation and participation of workers (clause 5.4). Document managementRead confirmation per audience shows that employees know the current work instructions, alongside the requirements of clause 7.5. ActionsMeasures after incidents and inspections are traceable to the report and closed with an explanation and evidence (clause 10.2). Risks & opportunitiesKey risks from the risk assessment can be promoted to this register, which serves as evidence for clause 6.1. AuditsFindings are followed up in a traceable way with actions or CAPAs and an effectiveness check (clause 9.2). Management reviewIncident figures, audits and actions are included automatically; one review counts as evidence for clause 9.3 of all linked standards. Management of ChangeFor each change you record the risk assessment, approval, implementation and evaluation, as support for management of change (clause 8.1.3). Objectives & KPIsYou measure safety goals with, for example, incident figures or completed inspections as KPIs; objectives and evaluations are evidence for clauses 6.2 and 9.1. Standards frameworkCriteria labelled as extra for ISO 45001 belong to that framework only, and a gap on them counts only there. ProcessesThe approved scope counts as evidence for 4.3, and risks with their controls are linked per process step. Roles & responsibilitiesFor clause 5.3 as well, the RACI matrix shows per process who is accountable and who carries out the work. StakeholdersStakeholders can be internal or external, so workers and their expectations are part of the analysis for clause 4.2 as well. ContextFactors that need follow-up become a risk, opportunity or action through a proposal, so the analysis for clause 4.1 carries through into your planning. GAP analysisEvery gap becomes an action or CAPA linked to the requirement, so the follow-up can be demonstrated. Audit-ready checkThe check monitors the common points, such as evidence, owners, open actions, audit planning and management review.
In practice

How to go about it

  1. 1

    Confirm the framework

You confirm that you have the official standard. The text of the standard itself is not in the platform.

  2. 2

    Record in the modules

You work in the modules listed below and link what you record as evidence to the requirements in the standards framework.

  3. 3

    Follow up gaps

You record concrete shortfalls as a gap and follow them up with actions from Actions.

  4. 4

    Reassess

The standards framework schedules the next assessment, usually after 12 months, so your evidence stays current.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about ISO 45001

Does BrydgeOne make me ISO 45001 certified?

No. BrydgeOne helps you keep your system in order and collect evidence. Certification itself is done by a certification body. The readiness in the standards framework is explicitly not a statement about certification.

Is the text of ISO 45001 in the platform?

No. BrydgeOne works with its own framework, the BrydgeOne Control Framework (BOCF), and it contains no text of the standard. ISO 45001 is a selection within it: you see which controls relate to the standard. That is why, when you activate a standard, you first confirm that your organization has the official standard.

Can I manage ISO 45001 together with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001?

Yes. All standards are selections on one register of control points. A control point that belongs to several standards is assessed once.

ISO 45001 in order, at your own pace

You only pay for the modules you switch on, from € 49 per month. In a demo we show how it works with your own processes.
